Travis Barker recording with Transplants
Travis Barker has his hand in so many different projects right now it will be a wonder if any of them actually see the light of day. The drummer, who has promised a solo record in September as well as a new Blink-182 disc in the coming year, has now announced via Twitter that he’s recording drums for a new Transplants album.
Transplants, which also features frightening former roadie Rob Aston, as well as Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, broke up in 2006. However, now it seems that was merely a hiatus. Earlier this year Barker Tweeted that the band was still alive and would be releasing new music in 2010. “Get ready for new TRAN$PLANT$ music #In2010,” he Tweeted.
This obviously leads us to the timely question: Who uses the dollar sign as a letter the best— Ke$ha or Tran$plant$?

I will listen to pop music or slow rock music when I need peace of mind and heart. When I am sad, I will listen to hard rock music to elevate the negative ions from my body and mind, where most people like listening to sad music when they are sad. SLASH RUNS INTO WEILAND ON WAY TO VEGAS
Over the weekend, Slash flew to Las Vegas to take part in PokerStars.net’s North American Poker Tour Celebrity Charity Tournament. On the plane to Sin City though, he ran into Scott Weiland, who was in Velvet Revolver with Slash until acrimoniously leaving the group. The guitarist spoke to us about the reunion.
“After we got off, the plane landed, it was cool. It was nice to see him, we talked for a minute, we walked through the airport together. It was the first time we talked since the last show of the tour.”
Slash went on to say that things were great between him and the Stone Temple Pilots singer.
“It was really cool and STP has a new record about to come out and I was really excited about it. It’s just, I don’t know, now that we’re not sort of at odds with each other in the band I have no issues.”
As for the poker tournament, Slash, who was at a table with Christian Slater, Marlon Wayans, UFC fighter Tito Ortiz and World Series of Poker winner Chris Moneymaker, didn’t win. Check out pictures from the event at NAPT.com.
